Canada seems to be chatting with Saab, albeit with intention of purchasing GlobalEye instead of Wedgetail

https://www.saab.com/newsroom/press-...ewc-capability

'The announcement was made by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at CANSEC, Canada’s largest defence and security trade show.
Saab has offered to build, maintain and upgrade the Canadian GlobalEyes with a team of Canadian partners. The goal is to transfer knowledge and technology to Canada that will grow the domestic defence industry. Saab also plans to invest in research and development work in Canada, as part of the future programme. '

cheers

That is truly great news if Canada goes down this GlobalEye path. With Italy cancelling their KC46 order and recently selecting the Airbus tanker instead, I hope it sends a strong message to the USA that undermining and disrespecting their traditional allies means they are rejecting US military hardware in preference to more reliable and stable defense partners.

No particular argument, but the OEM issues might also have been a factor.
