Position of the dog at Scampton.

I once flew with a pilot who was stationed at Scampton during the war.

He told me that the current “grave” is a memorial as the dog is somewhere else.

He said this was a known thing amongst a certain group of people.

No conspiracy theory rubbish, just a chat, no big thing, just in passing as an interesting fact.

Someone I’d trust and had no reason to make it up.

So….

1. does anyone still know where it is?
2. do you think someone should tell them before they move it to start building the houses? It’s going to be empty.
3. does it matter? maybe wherever it is, it should stay wherever it is, under a house or in a garden, that’s just part of the history of the site.

We had a new lawn laid recently, they found a lot of bones whilst rotivating. “Dog or Cat” they said, “get a lot of them, your lawn may not always have been a lawn”.
