I wonder if Lockheed are starting to get concerned over the orders this is picking up at the expense of what probably would have been Herc orders.
I wonder if Lockheed ever did a study at re-engining the Herc with a pair or four turbofans?

Seems like the C-130 is not only adequate, but perfect there.
I reckon the Herc's days are numbered. Eventually every airframe reaches the end of its life cycle.
For wondering: Just got off the phone. The B-52 called, and would like to have a word.
So too did the Huey and the S-61 ...

The USMC called and would love to chat about the super Hueys and all the life time left in those airframes. Do believe Bell is still producing varying Huey iterations still.
Shameless plug for the Venom:

Foreground is Viper, AH-1Z, wingman is Venom, UH-1Y.
Each powered by 2 T-700 engines and having a bearingless rotor system, and you'll note the four bladed tail rotor.
(Finally learned something from Blackhawk, they did!)
Back on topic, I think the 390 is a good looking bird.

Good for Embraer, but why choose a jet transport for a country as small as S Korea and no distant military interests?

but the Japanese are reluctant to ship military goods - not a problem with the Brazilians
