France Offers Its Fighter Aircraft To Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan

(MENAFN- AzerNews) France offers its Rafale fighters to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Azernews reports, citing French sources.

According to the publication, the French Dassault Aviation company has been working in this direction for "several months", while Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have begun to show interest in Rafale fighters.

It was noted in the sources that Uzbekistan can buy up to 24 combat aircraft. At the same time, it is possible that Tashkent will also look at aircraft manufactured in other countries.

Kazakhstan also intends to renew its fleet of fighter jets, but the prospects for the supply of Rafale fighters to this country "seem more distant".

Wouldn't it be easier to list, who they wouldn't offer the rafale to?

Point isn’t who’s selling - it’s who’s buying…

The Stans turning away from Russia, and China, as the surce of their weapons suggests they see those as their potential threat and want a supplier from elsewhere with superior weapons.

Let’s see if they buy, and who else follows.

That's how it works.

BAE Systems has had a shareholding and association with Air Astana for many, many years.

Do we assume that it's motivated by a pure and charitable interest in Central Asian flight safety ?

Maybe they go with "gently used, one careful owner" route to get them in the door.

I believe they already played that card. Unless they completely scuttle the French AF there is not many more aircraft to go that route
