RCAF Future Aircrew Training: SkyAlyne preferred bidder

it is a FACT lol couple of months but SkyAlyne is the preferred bidder for the RCAF FACT (Future Aircrew Training)

https://skyalyne.ca/

It consists of the current usual suspects of KF Aviation, NFTC, and CAE.

Anyhow earlier this year post Heli Expo I came across Airbus Helicopters Canada proposing the H135

cheers

A small point - NFTC is not part of SkyAlyne per se. Skyalyne is a 50/50 JV between CAE and KF. NFTC is just the name of the current contract at Moosejaw. SA will be responsible for all FW training at MJ, plus the rotary and ME training at Southport, and also the ACSO/AESOP training at Winnipeg.

Cynical. Moi?

I don’t wish to appear harsh but does the assembled team at SkyAlign come across as a little short on useful and relevant experience?

Errr...
CAE are largest provider of flying training in the world. They also provide the current NFTC contract. KF aerospace have been involved in flying service provision for decades. LM are the largest Defence company in the world.

Exactly who is more qualified?

LM

I was referring to this team. They’re going to be in charge of the whole military flying training system in Canada apparently.

Ahh, all is clear now ! Yes, you are correct in that the leaders of SkyAlyne are not people with relevant experience of Military training in most respects, but they don't have to be...National Express is not run by a bus driver. They are people with extensive business and organizational skills and they will be hiring the 'right' people to actually deliver the program. The first tranche of job openings for the SkyAlyne HQ in Ottawa can be found here: https://skyalyne.ca/who-we-are/skyalyne-careers/

LM - Oh my, it takes less than 2 months to train a bus driver - it takes several years to select and train combat aircrew. Even then, for command and management roles, the type of people suitable for senior jobs in a military training system, it will take decades to gain the required experience to successfully do so. Normally the best are backed by an MBA or Masters level of education to augment that exquisite knowledge of the military they have gained.

Your bus driver comparison would appear to show your lack of understanding of what is required…

Unfortunately more and more true worldwide.

Of course there will, I am sure, be close oversight to ensure high training standards are maintained.
SkyAlyne were not the lowest bidder.

Thanks for that, but to say you are mistaken would be an understatement. You also completely fail to understand comparative analysis.

SA are recruiting exactly the people you mention - did you not read my previous post?

FYI, National Express don't exist anymore. They re-branded as "Mobico" in June this year. Since then, their share price has dropped by 49%.

Maybe it should be run by a bus driver?

I won't waste time extrapolating that to your argument....
