Gazelle
Not sure what this idea is based on - I had to go back to 2011 to find a reference to a Gazelle UAS*
The little Gazelle bows out of British service at the end of this month. But it might not yet be the end of the story.…
They remained in use to support training in BATUS and for Northern Ireland security support, at Aldergrove.
Now both roles are folding and the last Gazelles will be withdrawn as 5 Regiment AAC leaves Aldergrove presumably to become the core of the new UAS unit announced by CGS.**

And I was wondering what the Central Gliding School wanted with Gazelles.
This would seem to be a way of retaining an AAC Regt (5 Reg) to keep a Lt Col, some Majors and assorted JOs and ORs gainfully employed.

The ones from NI are doing a swansong down the U.K. then to Fleetlands for disposal, see Rotorheads.

I recall during a short spell working at SEAE Arborfield being shown a number of ground instructional Gazelles that had been WFU due to damage to the cab roof caused by water ingress.
DRUK,whatever helicopter was made at the` glove and garage door company, down West`,was that they didn`t put in much `sealant` when assembling w/screens.roof panels, etc, nor even decent w/screen-wipers,and so one would have to cover instrument panels and consoles with plastic covers, especially in the tropics...
Below the Glidepath - not correcting
How long will it be before some genius comes up with the idea that to upgrade the UAS Gazelle, you could add back the flying controls and the seats and put an Army observer on board to provide a man-in-the-loop enhancement to the ISTR suite. You read it here first.

Helpful..
The original track covered more places, but with the delays it has all been reduced to a one day trip.
The original routing.
