Lights northeast of PR
Hello all,
Almost every time I find myself flying through San Juan airspace at night I’ve been seeing bright lights northeast of Puerto Rico, around 25 degrees north. I see them around 2 or 3 AM.
Usually a bright light visible for about 20-30 seconds with one or two dimmer lights appearing to chase it. Process is repeated every few minutes. To me it looks like a flare and other planes chasing it. If I had to guess I’d say they were up in the high 30s altitude.
I’m assuming it’s military training. Can anyone here tell me what they’re doing?
