South African Air Force Lockheed Martin C-130B
In my neck of the woods, last week, on Friday afternoon SAAF C-130B 58-0734 landed at Marshalls, after a week of commuting from SA. In the interim, there were diplomatic issues with the a/c having to stay where it was laid over in Namibia (?) until they sorted the clearance.
Anyhow this a/c has an interesting history with entering service with USAF then at some point it was converted into a weather recon WC-130B then somehow down the line retired ended up at AMARG. Thing it was turn of the millenium it was dragged out of the Boneyard and sold to the South Africans. I am led to believe it is not the first time, that 58-0374 has been here as it was undergoing work in late 90s here.
Anyhow here are my photos from friday afternoon.
