No one suggested that the RSAF F35B would operate off existing tarmac roads, as a well known video shows even a Vampire can destroy tarmac. I worked with the RSAF for some 3 years not long ago and have an inkling how things are done, you can be sure some off base F35B pads will be part of the thinking.
