Old Duffer
John Nichol - Post 14, I can't believe that you have not seen the scruffs who inhabit the RAF stations these days - uniforms that are not uniform and don't fit properly anyway.
Apart from the pilot, who is now PNG after a very unpleasant brush with the law, the ladies and gents in Pilots' Pals were delightful additions to the aircraft and their apparel fairly modest (if a little suggestive) compared with many images widely available today.

I was present at many of those shoots and remember many of the aircraft, vehicles, chocks that I painted, girls, (my ex was one) locations as well as the repore I had with the photographer.
Fantastic memories. How can anyone "CHOOSE" to be offended by such innocent photos?
What a very strange world it has become!

One wonders how the
would react to that classic old Flight Safety film "Dr FOD and the Wayward Body"....??
Which can still be found on YouTube!
5 years after the 'Lightning Farewell' came 'Phantom Pharewell'...photographed by a Wg Cdr and titled 'Flight Safety is a Model Arrangement'.
*Great descriptor, Specaircrew!
Gen Wet pronoun wearing whingers*

That made me chuckle, haven’t heard them mentioned for many years. During my time on 5 Sqn (94-00) they were always at a place we were detached to either just before us, or just after we left!
Visiting McConnell AFB once, we were accommodated in the local Marriott - which was rather nice! But our ailing Vickers FunBus went U/S, so we had to stay a bit longer. The manager told us we'd have to move out to the Holiday Inn as all the rooms we were in were pre-booked for another group...
The Dallas Cowboys' cheerleaders!
But the Holiday Inn was OK - it had a FREE 'Happy Hour'!!

Passing through Luxor on an epic `trainer cum diplomatic` trip to the Indian Ocean outposts in `Albert`,we were all herded into a quiet `lounge area` to await the Local Movements processing, where we found the Swedish Netball Team, awaiting their turn as well....Not sure they really understood the `joke`,but they were very nice girls....

Many eons ago, I was due to do a Jumping Bean display at an East Anglian air base and we were accommodated in a local hotel before being flown in by Squirrel (rotary not furry!) the next morning. I turned in fairly early but was kept awake by lots of splashing and screaming from the pool outside my window.
Checking out the following morning, reception said they hoped that the noise had not disturbed me but that the (you guessed it!) Swedish Netball Team had been in rather high spirits!
Damn!!

Quick test.... what is objectionable about this photo, the bare-chested persons, the short-skirted persons, both, neither?
Scanned slide from my collection, via C. Knott, that I have no other information about. It's probably at Hurn in front of a VC10 K2 in 1984. Additional information is welcome!

Well said Courtney Mil! Having been around the smaller London airfields Instructing 2000-ish, I knew a few of the "stars" of that era of "Pilot's Pals" as several were actively involved in the local aviation scene anyway and were directly involved in helping produce the calendars for fun and with a huge measure of enthusiasm! One of them even owns/flies her own Chippy now and a guy in one of the pics was actually a local ATCO who was a key "fixer" for the calendars at that time - his reward was starring in one - along with his dog!!!! It was great fun arranging the aircraft (and weather) for some of the shots. Strangely, once the girls had spoken to an owner/operator, the aircraft simply magically appeared!!!! The weather, however, was, at times, not quite so co-operative!!!!!! Ah, happy days - I'd forgotten all about them until seeing this thread!

Care to expand on that a little? I'm sure model release forms were signed which makes everything legal. Even if model release forms were not signed there is absolutely nothing pornographic or law breaking going on. So is being 16 in the 80/90s a crime?
After taking a second opinion, all there is is women and aeroplanes!! Mostly Chipmunks, which I find quite draconian.
