And the band marched on.

A cracking example as to why practice makes perfect, though I doubt the road ahead would have been open on the day, a well controlled and corrected turn, it could have easily all turned to poo....

Well done that man! I wondered who'd spot that one first.

If a Nav had been in charge they'd have been late, and in a B&Q car park in Daventry, wondering where the other marchers and crowds were.

Was it the Regiment who reacted brilliantly?

And why was there not the usual piles of horse-sh1t to follow?

My understanding was that this was an overzealous marshal stepping in to correct a problem that didn't exist. They were supposed to continue on to Victoria Monument about 100m ahead, but were forced into the forecourt of Wellington Barracks by the arm-waving interloper who assumed that every contingent was going to the same destination.

Well, next time one of you Brits trots out the story about the USAF aircraft going to the wrong airport for an air show, I know what my rejoinder will be.

Well it ain't like these things happen every year or anything.....perhaps they were just out of practice since the last one.

Odds are the next one will not be as far down the road as this one was.
