BUFF over Downham

About 30 min ago, a B52 passed overhead Downham Market, inbound to Fairford maybe. Unusually, it was closely escorted by 2 F-35s.

Enjoy the shriek while you still can. Won't be long before a B-52 sounds like nothing more than a flock of angry Gulfstreams.

shhhh it was a Secret Seven Mission lol

Apparently it Twas an engine failure after playing ufo over the North Sea with fighters.

I missed it by 5 minutes as I arrived at the ‘Hall….the pair of F-35 landed back at the ‘Heath.

To get back on thread, Fighter Control reports the combine did a flypast at RAF Lakenheath.

Here's the link, with due acknowledgement to Fighter Control.

Way back when (college days), I heard a story from one of the several USAF pilot types that were in the same Aero Engineering classes (the Air Force was paying them to get their Masters).
Two pilots that had gone through flight training together were flying as part of an exercise - one in an F-4, the other in a B-52. The F-4 pilot was bragging about how great his aircraft was, and it could do anything a B-52 could do only better. The B-52 pilot said "OK, let's see you do this". The F-4 pilot was confused and asked what the Buff pilot had just done? The response was "I just shut down two engines".
