The Japanese Ministry of Defence has begun a search after JASDF F-15DJ (2 crew) that disappeared from radar over the Sea of Japan while operating from Komatsu Air Base

Confirmed crashed in the sea - parts of wreckage located and also reports of possible rescue underway of crew member spotted (but may just be liferaft with red light on).

Hope they are ok. two on board
No subsequent news of flight crew.
Parts of the aircraft have washed ashore 20 km northeast, where fishermen say parts of wrecked boats often surface and come ashore. The final comment is they hope that the two will come up around there too. Video in Japanese.

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- The Japan Air Self-Defense Force said it has found the bodies of two pilots who were aboard an F-15 fighter that crashed into the Sea of Japan in late January.
The first body was discovered last Friday and the other one on Sunday in waters near the crash site about 5 kilometers west-northwest of the Komatsu Air Base in Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japan, according to the ASDF.
The two pilots were identified as ASDF Col. Koji Tanaka, 52, and Capt. Ryusei Ueta, 33.
