WW3 and The Civil Service

Sir Humphrey is down at the Givernment Archives researching plans for WW3 and has come across this gem.

I can just imagine Sir Humphrey Appleby receiving Bernard’s draft for the minister and coaching him on how to reword it…..

A load of balls

Minister writes side note on memo ‘Spherical objects’
Later, Sir Humphrey enquires; ‘who is Spherical, and to what does he object?’

Use a small bothy between Gare Lock and Lock Long.

Remember to store the artworks upside down. That way you can have a final look as you're kissing your harris goodbye!

That is apparently from a story about Churchill towards the end of the War - he wrote 'Round objects' in the margin of a memo, only to be asked by an aide who Round was and why did he object?

I read it here on PPRuNe.
