Line Book

Having rejoined recently I was disappointed to find that squadron line books seem to have become a thing of the past. Have people stopped saying funny things or is it a symptom of PCness?

Come on, there must be some gems out there!

Remembering what was in our 9 Sqn RAAF line book, I suspect that some PC snowflake would have a hernia from most of the entries.

Completely incorrect, racist, sexist, whatever-else-ist, but bloody funny.

My favourite - during a German F 104 Sqn, about to re equip with Tornado, exchange with a Buccaneer Sqn:

F104 pilot “ So vot is zis line book?

Bucc person “ Well, whenever anyone says something stupid or pretentious we put it in the line book.

F104 pilot “ Ah, ven ve hav ze navigators, Ver get ze line book”
