Trump purging defence policy board of experts

What’s to stop Biden simply firing Trumps cronies he replaces them with and putting the originals back in?

Absolutely nothing. Supreme Court judges aside, as that is a different matter, I think that there will be a LOT of this after Jan 20th.

This must be giving those responsible for vetting and security clearances a really tough time. I would find it very difficult to justify granting special access privileges to individuals who are likely to be sacked in less than two months’ time.

Especially as one of the replacements for Kissinger is the guy who publicly announced that President Obama was a terrorist, how the heck do you give him security clearance, it’s all a bit of a farce.. mind you who in their right mind would give Trump a security clearance.

Amazed me too

Members who were suddenly removed include former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Henry Kissinger, former ranking member of the House Intelligence committee Jane Harman and former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, two of the officials said.
I looked him up, still ticking along at 97! And working!! I could only dream to last that long.

Given the abysmal performance of the US defense policy, the question really should be why these people were not shown the door a decade ago.

All depends what your metrics are.
I'd say defense complex did pretty well over the past decades. And they slaughtered enough innocents to keep a healthy hatered of the US.

Exactly, people used to admire the US from afar, now it is hated from Kabul to Caracas. All this while saddling the US with massive debt.
Who persuaded the Pentagon to adopt the USSR playbook after it had so signally failed, that is the question.
