Well, given that both images are of an 'elephant walk', in which the aircraft taxy and line up under their own power, then no, most definitely not intake covers!

Don't see the 4 Nimrods at PSAB, must have been all launched at the same time !

What would have been impressive if they just launched 35 x F-35A

Laughingly in the last 2 years, Hill's finest has come over this side of the pond, and across the channel and Black Forests.... it was great to see one @ Le bourget (my pics below).



If you want to talk about coincidence then the sad and tragic Ukraine 737NG crash at Tehran........first assumptions was shoot down etc but official line is is catastrophic engine...so RIP victims.
