Does anyone believe Board of Inquiry Reports

I was involved in a sea prang off RAF Gan, Maldives in 1960. 'Prang' is probably not the operative word as the undercarriage was down and locked and we missed the runway by 1.5 miles and landed in the sea. The Hastings Transport Aircraft of 48 Squadron Changi sank in deep water after 20 minutes, by a miracle all 20 on board escaped serious injury.

The Board of Inquiry was convened and reported on. All that remains from this documentation is a very poor handwritten Form A1180 Accident Record and on the reverse side of this an indecipherable code that no-one seems to understand. To get information from todays MoD is trying to get blood out of a stone and when you do it is misleading to say the least. Bearing in mind the Chinook enquiry what do you aviators think of 'Official Inquiries', if anyone has any comments to make please read my story on http://splashdown2.tripod.com with all of the links and photos from yesteryear as I would appreciate any feedback, thank you.

Sorry folks, there appears to be a delay in getting on to my website due to 'bandwidth restrictions' however there are no restrictions on the photos site linked to 'Splashdown' which can be accessed at http://community.webshots.com/user/hastingsgan please then click on to the Album 'The Crash of Hastings TG579', meanwhile thank you for your forebearance.
