We make allowances for people based on religious beliefs, why should this be any different? If alternatives are available where's the harm?

Are these people going to demand vegan compo when they deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan? Is it really right that the entire military procurement system must be duplicated at God kows what expense just to pander to these idiots?

But what the digamma is a vegan doing in the military in the first place? What utter hypocricy!

The answer should be a straightdorward military, "NO".

Hmm Interesting. So say ones views changes once in service it should be sayonara/goodbye?

I don't think so.

On my last ship we had two devote Muslims. One was a middle aged woman officer who offered practical alternatives to meet her religious needs, was low maintenance, smart, and widely accepted and respected by all on board. The other was a young man who had just converted to Islam. He was a complete pain in the Arse, always demanding his religious rights, and the crew had absolutely no time for him. I had to put a stop to one of their favorite pranks. When we were out of sight of land he would come up to the bridge to look at the standby gyro compass repeater to see which way was East. The crew would make a point of slewing the card 180 degrees just before he arrived.....

But it's okay for everyone else to change their practices to accommodate?

I don't think so either. Unfortunately we pander to these minorities...

So who hasn't re-arranged the furniture in a Middle Eastern hotel room, to point the Mecca-this-way green arrow in the wrong direction....

But it is. Two procurement requirements, two production lines, two sets of stores. Or should everyone wear the vegan stuff? What about those who believe in eating meat? Herbivores, as far as I know, don't have canine teeth.

Next you’ll be saying everyone should be in the same uniform, probably with no brevets Badges, or specialist “requirements”, etc etc.

When we achieve that, then you might have a logical argument. In the meantime, I have some clouds you can wave your fist at...

I haven't. I'm not religious (thank God) or superstitious (touch wood), but isn't doing that that worth seven years bad luck ...or something?

I haven't.
But only because nobody had ever suggested this avenue of mischief to me before.
In future I will be remodelling Dubai hotel rooms with enthusiastic abandon

When one of these idiots reaches Group Captain / Colonel rank, and their hat has scrambled eggs on the peak, what will they demand? Broccoli?

Is it difficult to leave it alone out of respect for others beliefs? Is it hurting you?
Pathetic

Really? I'm surprised anyone with more than one brain cell (pilots, I hope) reads that drivel.
