Tucano History
To complete a Tucano aviation magazine feature, can anyone please help with the following dates:-
What peroid dd the Tucano fly with No.6 FTS at RAF Finningly. (From and to)?
What dates did it fly with TANS at RAF Topcliffe (From and to)?
When did No7 FTS at RAF Church Fenton stand down flying the Tucano?
Many thanks

No 6 FTS flew the Tucano until late 95 (October) when Finningley closed. Navigator training then moved to No 1 FTS at RAF Topcliffe where Nav Flt was one of the 3 Flts on CFS (Tucano) Sqn.
Following the closure of No 3 Sqn at Linton, CFS (Tucano) Sqn IT Flt and Trg Flt moved down to Linton. Nav Flt remained on its own at Topcliffe but was renamed Tucano Air Navigation Squadron (TANS) on 28 Feb 97.
TANS then also moved down to Linton when CFS (Tuc) Sqn moved into the space above No 2 Sqn, leaving Topcliffe as an RLG. TANS was then renamed 76 (R) Sqn on 1 May 07 until being disbanded in May 11 when Navigator (WSO) Trg was ended.
