Italy seizes weapons from a far right organisation

Amongst them is..
During their raids, police discovered a French-made Matra air-to-air missile that appeared to have once belonged to the Qatar armed forces.Subsequent checks showed the weapon was in working condition but lacked an explosive charge. Police said the suspects had tried to sell the missile in conversations with contacts on the WhatsApp messaging network.

Around 20 years ago I was driving from Norfolk to Suffolk to collect a Firestreak missile (drill round) which I had previously agreed to buy.On the way there, towing a trailer,I pulled off the road onto the scrub-land opposite RAF Lakenheath,in order to have a cup of coffee from a thermos-flask which my GF had brought along. We'd only been parked for about 5 minutes before the local plod came along, and moved us on.I wonder what might have happened if I had done that on the return journey ?

The article inverts 180 deg the truth about those pro-nazi extremists. Italian media said that in reality they fought (as part of self-armed group) alongside the Ukrainian army against the separatists in Eastern Ukraine. One of such thugs was recently sentenced to 20+ years behind the bars for killing an Italian journalist who was filming combat operations in Ukraine.
It is the Ukrainian government who often supports (or at least have their eyes closed with regards to) far-right extremists and even rename streets and squares in the names of the nazi collaborators.
And the reason why they plotted an attack against this Italian politician is because he openly suggested to cancel "sanctions" against Russia as they negatively impact the Italian economy.

A Matra Super 530F via Qatar - not so much use without the associated Mirage or supposedly missing warhead.

Agreed. Very unlikely to present any potential for concrete use.

Were they not 'Far right extremists' at all, but unprincipled arms dealers?
