Rafales over Cyprus

So, are they overflying the SBAs and/or using Akrotiri? Over avoiding both during the exercise for political reasons?

So does the SBA agreement/treaty mean the UK "owns" the airspace above as well? Can't see why there should be any reason the UK would be concerned about FR aircraft operating in it? Then again I'm not a politician...

They flew a missed approach at Larnaca Airport.

According to the news report, they overflew Famagusta which is Northern Cyprus.

Still technically Nicosia FIR

The reference to Famagusta is likely to mean the Famagusta District within the area controlled by the Republic of Cyprus.

I was in Cyprus last week and saw them most days, usually in pairs. Formation flying skills in (tightish) turns didnt look too impressive to this layman.
