Deutchland 86 heads up

Just a heads up in case anyone enjoyed the first series Deutchland 83 about an East German Soldier roped into spying on NATO, well it's back on more 4 Friday at 9pm, but has moved onto 1986. The first one was so well done with period military etc.

Excellent. I really did enjoy the D83 episodes. Realistic scenario and very evocative.

Deutschland 83 & 86 are terrific. Both series capture the zeitgeist perfectly. Oddly enough, none of my German friends had even heard of Deutschland 83 despite the awards the series won.
Hope they do a Deutschland 89 - another fascinating period of German/European history.

Thanks Nutty. I watch few TV series due to never having got into the habit thanks to civvy airline rosters and the joys of programming VHS recorders while lying full length on the floor.

Nevertheless I did watch the previous series and can only add to the praise heaped on it above. I hope that my Freesat PVR will now allow instant selection for recording the series (doesn't always, and then I have to fall back on managing to remember when and where it is on, a most unlikely successful outcome!).
