Southampton, Birmingham , Edinburgh & Manchester UAS pre 1974

Hi all

I am trying to research the history of DH Chipmunk WP811 that served with the above UAS units prior to 1974. I would be grateful for anyone who could advise if they flew WP811 and what date. This would be a great help as whilst we know the aircraft was with these Squadrons we do not know what dates!!

I flew Chipmunks with SUAS from October to December 1973. I flew 6 different airframes (which I think was all that they had) but WP811 was not one of them. Hope this is some help.

UBAS 1967-1969.

The only WP I remember was WP900.

My father joined SUAS on 9 April 1973 and ferried the last SUAS Chipmunk to Kemble on the 13 March 1974 - WP811 does not appear in his log book.

I was QFI/CFI on UBAS from Sep.64 until Dec.66 and never flew or saw WP811 during that time. (Mine was WP900).
