Images at following link of Typhoon scramble with Meteor missiles on 10th December. Scrambled for two Russian Air Force Tu-160 Blackjacks as they transited to Venezuela.

RAF Typhoons in QRA at RAF Lossiemouth, UK, “were scrambled today as a precautionary measure against unidentified aircraft approaching the UK area of interest. However, no intercept took place and the Typhoons subsequently recovered,” a UK MoD release states.

There's one at the RAF Montrose Museum they could borrow. Might need a lick of paint though.

How so? Won't make a whit of difference to what the Russians do.
I wonder if the RAF asked the Russians to send a couple of Blackjacks down our way in order to be able to issue a press release saying they now had Meteors?
