Derek Heathcote, Sqn Ldr ret'd, has left us, and his funeral is tomorrow. A great character, navigator, and in his latter career a devoted planner of UK emergency contingencies. A wise advisor to me on my arrival on 12 Sqn as the sprog Trg Off. Farewell mate.
