Sad sad news, my heartfelt condolences to his family.

Extremely sad news...Al Bone was one of a kind and one of the best. I have many memories of working and playing hard with a truly great guy. Condolences to Christine at such a sad time.

RIP tac nav.

A real maritime character and an excellent skipper. What more can I add that hasn't already been said?

Al & I were at Nav School together, but never on the same Nimrod squadron. Always had a good chat with each other whenever our paths crossed - sad to hear he has gone so young.

Probably one of the best maritime tac navs ever. A strong character with a good sense of fun. Gone too soon. The scruffs bar in the sky will be a livelier place!

A great character, never a dull moment when Al was in the room or in the Tac seat.

Very sad news, he taught me the ways of the MOD (bars where the mobile signal doesn't reach, never press send after a liquid lunch etc), never a dull moment.

Message via Mike Peaker.

"Al Bone's funeral will take place at the West Suffolk Crematorium, Risby, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP28 6RR, at 1200 on Monday 12 November.

There will be refreshments afterwards at the Best Western Priory Hotel, Mildenhall Road, Bury St Edmunds IP32 6EH. It would help Christine to know how many people are going to attend. Please could you email her accordingly at [email protected] "
