I must admit I was guilty of scouring this forum for OASC advice not so long ago, so I know lots of advice is available.
Your best bet is to use the search option near the top of the page and search for 'OASC' and 'Cranwell'. You will have a mountain of views, opinions and advice at your fingertips!
Once you've read it all (perhaps save it or print it to save your phone bill) if there's still anything you wanna know I'm sure someone will be happy to give you a straight answer to a focused question.
Good luck
Al

Once you have done that, maybe someone will spoonfeed you through the interview too.
Sorry to sound un-charitable me old, but think of how silly that original question was!
Todays other top tip is to avoid mentioning the date of yr interviews......you are in a dog eats dog scenario there - and they don't need a moral boost!!
Prove how strong you are and out-ride the banter here.
It is only a small taste of what may come if you are accepted!
(any board Members out there ? - grill anyone who likes "Am Dram" and starred in Oliver!!)

September eh??
Maybe you should call before travelling "hello you have reached OASC, I'm sorry but we've gone to war, please leave a message"
At least you wont need a good current affairs topic, the press are already predicting this one!!

OASC - Current Affairs
AD28 - Regarding the requirement for familiarity with current affairs during your OASC interview- if you haven't been keeping an eye on them for a while, it's a bit late - the Board aren't impressed with an obvious last-minute cram on today's issues - they are looking for someone who can recall events from all around the world over the last 12 to 18 months, in sufficient detail to be able to discuss/express opinions on them. So if you haven't, get reading some back numbers in the newspapers!

The bigger picture...
AD28,
I passed through the gates at Cranwell just over a few months ago now and the advice I would give would be as follows;
i) Don't lie, if you don't know the answer tell them.
ii) If you are asked about a topic, and you clearly know the answer, you will be stopped dead in your tracks. Don't worry about it, they are trying to probe into areas that you are unsure of and how you deal with the situation.
iii) Look directly at the person asking questions, completely ignore the other. Unless of course they ask you a question.
iv) Ignore the CCTV camera and you'll do yourself a favour.
When I was there, many guys and gals were prompted with the following question;
'' Taking into consideration the previous twelve months, tell me something of important social, political or military interest for every continent, lets start with.........''
I hope this is of help.
Regards
Fra
Ps, the wise guys are up early on the second day. Have your breakfast and get into the TV room and watch the morning news.

...and don't be fooled by those "trick" questions such as:
Can you mix a dry Martini?
(No, a dry martini should be "shaken", not "mixed")
Do you know the local Lotus dealer on first name terms?
(No, I'm more of a TVR man myself)
Do you own your own polo pony?
(No, I own the club)

AD28- im heading up to OASC on sunday, i feel that i have completed insufficient revision as far as curret affairs goes (bit late now), however from the advice i have been given, i can tell you the board may start the conversation off by asking you what you think some of the worlds important issues have been over the past 12 months, you would talk briefly about 3 or 4 of them and one would be chosen for develpoement to see how much pressure you can handle in relation to your knowledege of the subject, something along those lines!!
Good luck in sept, when i get back next week i can give you some fresh advice.
Regards
