40+30=70

A couple nights ago I watched a 40th anniversary of the Canberra documentary on YouTube. As I did the math I realized it's been 30 years since 40 years...

I remember seeing USAF RB-57s as a kid; did they have any part(s) in common with an EE-produced Canberra?

So, was it really 70 years ago today that the Canberra made its first flight? Arguably Britain's most succesful military aircraft!

Indeed. For many years before the name and production of Tornado were agreed upon, MRCA stood for 'Must Refurbish Canberras Again'.

13th May 1949, following a 1944 Air Ministry requirement for a Mosquito replacement!
