Well Arnold Schwarzenegger used cannon while in the hover....while talking to his daughter who was sitting on the nose grabbing the (shattered) windscreen frame.....

Actually curious if cannon or rockets were ever trialed or discussed while in hover? (in the real world)

To hover whilst carrying any meaningful amount of weapons your fuel state would suggest very close proximity to your own ATC tower. It would have to be a pretty bad GCA to be tempted.

Pretty sure that on the GR7/9 at least the weapons bus was isolated on selection of gear down. Can’t remember about the FA2.
