NVG Counter balance weight/Neck Pain
"PPruners", I know this subject has been talked about awhile back but I did recall that a DIN was published (around 3 or 4 years ago) about refraining from the use of 600g counter balance weights due to plethora of reports of neck strain injuries. Having now reluctantly ended my Military flying career two years ago I no longer have access to DII so I could browse the archives. Does anybody have a copy of said DIN or able to have a browse for me? (sorry I don't know the reference either).
Thank you all in advance.

Henlow produced quite a report on the subject and CAM are quite good at providing reports when asked. If you are looking for a regular claim or similar then you may not need additional detailed evidence. If you have to bob your head around in a dynamic or vibration prone platform with a heavy Mk4 helmet + NVGs + counterweight + an odd CofG then it would be rather hard for the MoD to claim that this does not have a deleterious effect.
As a crewman sticking my head out to clear below the aircraft with NVG and counterweight strapped to my bonce was guaranteed to give me head and neck ache after a couple of sorties. Unsurprisingly I don’t miss that at all!
