Question Images of Former QBFPs

Watching the flypast at the weekend led me to yearn for a picture of my participation in 1983. An extensive Google search has yielded nothing. Is there a source for old flypasts, do the MOD have such things or should I try approaching a newspaper?

2012 I think - 87 aircraft, rather than 1987.

And 208, methinks. The tail of the 'R' is an excellent touch.

'99CH,

the 1983 QBF comprised 4 x 617 Tornado GR1, 3 x 208 Sqdn Buccaneer, 4 x 11 Sqdn Lightning (operating from Wattisham) ... which one were you in?

I was deputy lead Nav in the GR1s, best job in the world because the deputy lead got to do the route in a Seaking as a recce. Thanks for the list; it was really grobbly on the day as we routed around East Anglia picking up formations and I knew one lot had not got on board. We were supposed to pick up 4 Jags from Coltishall but they weren't in by Foulsham Airfield so they had to go home following much pleading on the radio.

99CH,

I don't suppose you have a note of which aircraft you flew in? For the 1983 flypast, the only thing I know is what was involved, but not which aircraft.

Much obliged Gents. Another piece fits into place in a very large jigsaw puzzle. Two down, several hundred more to go!

And one from Duxford during the return from the Seaking recce. Anyone recognise the haircut on the left?
