Question What Was Largest Vulcan B2 Formation?

Hello All

Just one more question on the Vulcan! what was the largest Vulcan formation flown and it's call sign if possible. Which base and squadrons were they.

Thanks

I remember a QBF, two Vulcan in trail with 4 Reds.

In Cyprus we had a number of Vic 3s from 9/35 in an exercise, an exercise in how not to do it.

There was no joint briefing, no common frequency, and we all had different targets at Akrotiri. They joined off Larnaca, just before splitting just before the targets, and all radio silent. Very sporty.

The practice days had Vulcans from all 4 V bomber bases in a huge formation with aircraft from all squadrons. Starting at Finningley with Scampton then Waddington and finally Cottesmore not sure of the total but in excess of 30. I witnessed the event from Cottesmore after all the smoke cleared post launch!! The formation was joined by Victors from Wittering and Wyton also, I have a photograph taken from a distance will try and find it and count the dots.
