Voice of Scampton, obit today's Times

From today's Times. May have been the last female voice some crews heard when returning home in seriously damaged aircraft..

Trail blazing woman.
When I went to Duxford to see the two Lancasters, and could not get in despite being a Friend of Duxford (system has changed now) , I went and parked near Sawston. Got talking to an elderly woman and her son. Turned out she had been a WAAF at Scampton, and had actually overheard Gibson being told of the death of his black dog. Captivating afternoon enjoying her reminiscences and in return I was able to send them photos of the two Lancasters together.
