virus infected?

each time have been on this site in the last few days, a few minutes in, a 'warning' comes on the screen (replacing the PPRUNE screen) to say, variously, the my computer has been infected with a trojan virus, needing urgent action or that I need to update my anti virus software. This seems to be a scam, but it does seem to be associated with the PPRUNE site somehow. Can the MODS check this?

Been going on for some time. There is no virus but it is a form of malware. Don’t click on the link...

I too have had page show up several times. It has always been when using Pprune. I don't know what it is all about but I do a scan for bad things when it does come up just in case.

Aaron.

I had this a couple of days ago when on here - using Chrome on an iMac - and simply closed down the tab, and that was that. I have not had a similar occurrence with other websites, so is it worrying that this malware thing appears to be transmitted through PPRune? Does the site's Host company need to be doing something to stop it?

I had this problem a few weeks ago. There is a thead about it:-
https://www.pprune.org/pprune-proble...p-message.html

Quote:- "From what I understand, the issue is caused by Google Ads. Certain adverts will cause this to happen whilst others won't.

Happens on various other websites too whilst browsing in Safari.

There is no known solution as of yet but hopefully Google will resolve it soon as it can be frustrating."

Wha? The solution is to add an ad blocker to your browser.

If someone is working on trying to block this malware thing, I fear he/she is not doing too well. I've just had it reappear, for the second time in a week.

I don't know about malware but my phone keeps blocking a pop-up which is always followed by the Stein insurance ad actually popping up.
Only started happening recently
