Arizona Air Guard (162nd Wing) F-16 Crash - Pilot Reportedly Killed

An Arizona Guard (162nd Wing) F-16 crashed at approximately 1500L about 20 miles northwest of Safford, Arizona during a training mission. The pilot was reportedly killed in the crash.

Agree with Buster ... any loss is bad, but this one is a little bit worse.

I recall the comment by one VSO when asked about the wisdom of letting them continue to fly FJs.

"It's bloody good fun, and the survivors are worth having".

The accident in which the Iraqi Brigadier General was lost in an F-16IQ was the previous one on 24 June 2015 - not this latest one.

The pilot who sadly lost his life in the latest accident was a Major (student pilot) - identified on Iraqi AF Facebook but not officially by ANG yet.
