Shackleton Memories

I don't want to clog the board with aircraft videos, but I thought that this interior walk around of a Shackleton interior and an engine run up might bring back some memories for those brave souls who spent many hours sitting in those worn seats.

Anyone know what the "double yoke" arrangement is on the commander's control column ?

I never flew them, but my guess is wheel brakes and possibly nosewheel steering.

It is a Mark 3, and the smaller yoke is the nosewheel steering. Only on the left hand side, and had a little button on the top which had to be pressed to activate it.

Memories.

My father's cousin Roy was killed in the Shackleton 'experimental stall-warning equipment' crash, when flying as a technical observer.
