As the title says. Thanks. I was talking to an ex Lancaster pilot, whilst standing in the car park next to the west sands in St Andrews, when the Spit, Hurricane and Lanc launched. It really made the old boys day. What made my day was the wing waggle from Hurricane as it flew over the German tourists paddling in the sea.

You should have seen the display those BBMF chaps put on when
RAF Tangmere closed.
The morning after the day of the closing ceremony (actually we transferred
the station to the RN) we were loading our cars outside the Mess when the
BBMF Spitfires proceeded to beat up the airfield. They came in over the
fence, on the deck, at the village end of the runway and gave a display of
flying the likes of which I have not seen before or since.
Brough tears to many eyes, and made one proud to be a part of the RAF.
