In Memoriam Flt Lt Harold James "Jimmy" Strickland Taylor (Retd)

Another one of our amazing WWII veterans slipped the surly bonds just before Christmas. "Jimmy" was a Spitfire Reconnaissance Pilot who served with 16 Squadron during the war as well as becoming a POW in Germany.
He may be familiar to some having appeared on TV a number of times including the story of Bletchley Park and the code breakers.
By kind permission of his family I can publish the details of his upcoming funeral arrangements. Although this will be a private funeral his family would be delighted for a military presence at a memorial service to celebrate his life and achievements. In particular members of the Royal Air Force including ex and current 16 Squadron personnel.

Those who are entitled and wish to do so would be most welcome to wear uniform subject to authority from relevant chain of command.

Please share any stories or anecdotes that you may have so that they can be passed on to the family. If more details are required please contact me via PM

Just a quick reminder if anyone is available to attend Jimmy's final send off tomorrow. It promises to be a very fitting occasion with a Spitifre salute (weather permitting);
