I visited the National Arboretum today

I must admit I had wanted to for a while, but today I finally took the plunge and made the trip, sadly my camera battery was running low, but I was looking at the installation put up to honour those that fought in the Great War, among the little individually painted figures by members of the public, this caught my eye, who were they, did they survive the horrors and did a loved one make this to honour a member of their family, I do hope it shows a little insight into the fragility of life, as the wooden figures start to succumb to the ravages of time.
