End of the ICC?

At least as an effective organisation?

There was much discussion, and vituperation, when the USA refused to sign up to its jurisdiction - now Russia has withdrawn from membership, in what seems to be becoming at least a trend, if not a wave.

You would think the BBC, and the rest of the MSM would have this as a main headline item, but no, it's hidden in the footnotes buried on the inside pages.....
Russia dealt a blow to the International Criminal Court when it announced that it was withdrawing its signature to the tribunal’s founding statute. Russia’s foreign ministry said the court was not truly independent, describing it as one-sided. The move came days after Gambia said that it was leaving the court, following South Africa and Burundi. The president of the court’s assembly of state parties, Sidiki Kaba, from Senegal, urged countries to remain as he opened an eight-day meeting in the Hague. He said: “In a world criss-crossed by violent extremism . . . it is urgent to defend the ideal of justice for all.” (AFP)

US were the first (and the most wise) to send this preudo-court to hell. Russians are just copying, with a huge time lag though (this is what the FM said recently).

Somebody made a count: 4 verdicts (only) from the beginning, at the cost of c.a. USD 1Bln. A budget of a small war.
