U.S. B-2 bombers struck an underground IRGC headquarters in Tehran during the rescue window, using bunker buster munitions.
Ordered by CENTCOM chief Cooper, multiple B-2s flew a 36 hour round trip from Whiteman AFB to deliver the strike, using the same class of bombs deployed against nuclear sites.
The target was a gathering of senior IRGC commanders. U.S. officials say the facility was destroyed and many are presumed dead. - Fox News

Tonight US/Israel are conducting another wave of heavy airstrikes on the Isfahan area:
- Mount Sofeh munitions storage bunkers, south of Isfahan. This some complex was already bombarded on March 27th and 30th.
- 15th of Khordad Barracks, south of Isfahan. This facility serves as an IRGC base with above-ground warehouses, living quarters, commander, control, and logistics nodes, along with artillery storage and revetments. It's located right next to the Baharestan ballistic missile storage and launch base, along with another major ammo depot. It's likely that strategic bombers are also attacking the Baharestan, Mobarakeh, and Isfahan West ballistic missile bases.
- Industrial facilities in the Zarrinshahr industrial zone, south of Najafabad. The most likely tagret was the Esfahan Machinery Manufacturing Company, which specializes in the design, fabrication, and installation of heavy industrial equipment and steel structures.
- IRGC's 8th Armored Division Garrison in Najafabad, a large base hosting the 8th Division's barracks, command posts, tank and armored vehicle shelters, maintenance workshops, training areas, & ammo storage.
- IRGC, Basij, and FARAJA bases were hit in Natanz for the first time since the beginning of the war.
- Kashan Airport, home to a Shahed launch base, trainer aircraft, and a nearby air defense site.
- Air/artillery strikes on Kish Island.
- Sea docks and naval bases at the Ports of Chabahar and Konarak.
- Many other locations were struck but I don't know their exact target, such as northern Isfahan, eastern Tehran, Qazvin, Meymand, & Shiraz.
Rumors of Power Station #123 being attacked appear to be false.

Explosions reported in Tehran and nearby Karaj, according to Iranian media. “Moments ago, explosions were heard in parts of Tehran and Karaj,” local outlets say, with no further details released.
Reports indicate over 100 U.S. and Israeli fighter jets are currently striking IRGC targets across Iran in what appears to be the most intense wave of airstrikes since the war began. A major escalation is underway as joint operations continue to target key military infrastructure and leadership.

Bomber Mission 57 - Stilts for Bones #FreeIran!
--- Operation EPIC FURY ---
Yesterday's (6th April 2026) only bomber mission from RAF Fairford (EGVA) was a pair of B-1B "Lancer" bombers as "STILT" flight. While I was unable to identify any of the tankers for this one (reasons will become obvious in a post later today), we did identify the callsigns as "ROMA" flight. The bombers involved were:
Mission LVII
B-1B "STILT70" 86-0140 #AE6C0B "Last Lancer"
B-1B "STILT71" 86-0138 #AE6C09 "Seek and Destroy"

BREAKING: Israeli and U.S. air forces are now heavily bombing Tehran, capital city of Iran.
The first image shows multiple explosions in Shahrake Gharb, western Tehran, while the second shows explosions targeting Iranian defense infrastructure in Khojir and Parchin, east of Tehran.
Today (April 7, 2026), between 10:15 and 10:35 AM, a coordinated multi-axis wave of airstrikes targeted Tehran.
At 10:15–10:20, around 14 cruise missiles were reported flying from Shahriar toward Tehran from west to east.
At 10:28, at least 7 cruise missiles passed at low altitude over Tehran Bazaar. Approximately 3 minutes later, multiple explosions were heard. At the same time, 2 explosions and air defense activity were reported in Sadeghiyeh.
At 10:29–10:30, the main strike wave began. In Shahrake Gharb and Saadat Abad, 5–6 explosions were reported along with multiple additional detonations described as severe. In Amirabad Shomali, one very heavy close-range explosion occurred. In central Tehran, including Moniriyeh and the Republic–Navab axis, fighter jets were flying at extremely low altitude while air defense systems were actively firing.
At 10:30, across western and central Tehran, including Sadeghiyeh, Gisha, Shadabad, and District 18, more than 10 missiles were observed passing overhead followed by delayed explosions. In Selsabil, more than 10 missile sounds were reported. Two large explosions were reported near Imam Sadegh University. At the same time, in eastern Tehran, including Piroozi, Nabard, and Abu Zar, 10–12 explosions were reported following visible incoming missiles from the west. Low-flying jets were repeatedly maneuvering and striking targets.
Between 10:30 and 10:32, jets were observed flying at very low altitude over Tehransar, Mehrabad Airport, and eastern districts. Explosions and air defense engagement were reported across the city.
Between 10:31 and 10:33, additional heavy explosions occurred in Shahrake Gharb and Saadat Abad, including at least 4 more blasts. Tehransar reported explosions alongside very low aircraft passes. Central Tehran continued to experience explosions and active air defense fire.
By 10:33–10:35, explosions continued across Tehran, while strikes were also confirmed in Khojir and Parchin, indicating simultaneous targeting of strategic military infrastructure east of the city.

Mate, I'm sure that the planners in-theatre knew what they were doing, and will release an unredacted timeline of events in the fullness of time.
In the meantime, we have knowledgeable contributors here.
ORAC is keeping us updated with general - and sometimes quite detailed - progress.
Old Gums is relating his experience with CSAR, and some snippets from his present locality.
And tdracer and West Coast both provide a balanced perspective from technical and experienced backgrounds.
I am surprised that the msm talking-heads aren't tapping in to give some credence to their "expert analysis".

You might appreciate my skepticism when the SecDef/War uses the Christian Easter story as the basis for his briefing on the evacuation of the WSO

What they won't reveal is how many, if any, aircraft were damaged or destroyed.
Following claims earlier today by Iranian channels of a drone and missile attack Sunday night against several aircraft stationed at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, CBS News is now reporting, citing U.S. officials, that 15 American servicemembers were injured in an Iranian one-way drone strike overnight on Ali Al Salem Air Base.

If the Assad regime was still in power, this would be sent straight to Moscow. An in tact Talon seeker is very sensitive technology. The Russians would love to have this.
The US State Department is surely on the phone with Damascus right now. Good example of why the US needs to maintain a friendly working relationship with al-Sharaa.

Bomber Mission 58 - Snide Spirits #FreeIran!
--- Operation EPIC FURY ---
Alongside the single B-1 mission from RAF Fairford (EGVA) yesterday (6th April 2026), the US mainland saw the launch of 3x B-2A "Spirit" bombers to Iran as part of #OperationEpicFury. These bombers kept an even lower profile than normal during their transit, with very few of their supporting tankers appearing on tracking apps at all! All 3 B-2s are now back over the Atlantic heading home.
This is now the 5th B-2A mission tracked from Whiteman AFB since US bombers deployed to RAF Fairford in early-March.
Mission LVIII
B-2A "SNIDE27" ?
B-2A "SNIDE28" ?
B-2A "SNIDE29" ?
KC-46A (x4 or 5) "ROMA21" flight (LPLA, inbound)
KC-135 (x4 or 5) "ROMA12" flight (blvd LBSF, inbound)
KC-135 (x4 or 5) "ROMA??" flight (u/k, outbound)
KC-46A (x4 or 5) "ROMA05" flight (LPLA, outbound)

Video

Footage of US/Israeli forces bombing an Iranian Ministry of Intelligence facility in Shiraz this morning.
.......this is an Iranian underground facility. Construction on the regional MOI headquarters began in 2006, and clear tunnel portals were visible in the hillside before construction started. The airstrikes struck structures located over what would be the UGF.

This location had several bunker entrances that later went hidden behind the Ministry of Intelligence buildings. That's why we have seen bunker busters being used.
And the facility in the valley either filled or concealed the valley floor. The valley floor is much higher up the mountain now.

NOW: Hamas supporters are blocking RAF Lakenheath chanting “Stop bombing Iran” and “Zionism shut it down”.
Our national security is a JOKE. Arrest them.

It's hard to see how this was a "defensive" mission from Fairford, or has UK policy changed?

So, yes, it would have been a defensive mission.

Possibly because they have a use for them?
"U.S. hit dozens of military targets on Kharg Island overnight,” a senior US official tells me.
The targets that the US hit on Kharg Island included bunkers, radar station, ammunition storage.
Landing docks were not intentionally targeted. Only would have been struck if Iranians fired something from next to them, according to senior US official who spoke to Fox News.

BREAKING:
Iran’s IRGC says it has “removed all previous considerations” in its response, warning U.S. regional partners that earlier restraint in targeting has ended, according to Fars News Agency.
The IRGC adds it will target U.S. and allied infrastructure in a way that could deprive them of regional oil and gas resources for years.
