New badge
I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could
Kitbag, well done, that nails it.
Now tell us what they do with it and where it is displayed.

Dunno, I'm a techie, not an engineer. Best person to ask is that bloke with a brain the size of a planet; Julian Young, I think he was the driving force behind it (may not be though)

Ah, introduced to universal acclaim and issued to all ranks to wear on their coveralls. Oil resistant I presume.

PN ... what I said at Post #22, really, but without a pretty picture
HQ Military Air Traffic Operations (HQ MATO) also had a badge, but Google is preventing me from finding an example. It was used by several Area Radar Units until they acquired their own badges. Never had one for ATC as a Branch, though, or for individual Towers [being subordinate to the Station]. I always fancied being OC 3216 ATC Sqn [no, not THAT ATC].

Does anyone else think what a waste of money in a time when there are cutbacks all round.
And where will it end, when the RAF are reduced to wearing uniforms plastered in badges that would not look out of place in some African backwater?.

You could adapt the wriggly trade one for everyone,
For scribblies a clenched hand holding a quill
For engineers a clenched fist holding a spanner
For catering a clench fist holding a fork
For PTI a clench fist holding a dumbell
For regiment a clench holding a bayonet.
Etc

Hello? Does anyone here read before posting?
This is NOT a uniform badge.
It is an Heraldic Badge. Simples.
Carry on enjoying the banter.

Thanks kitbag - that certainly answers my question.
P-N - I'd forgotten about the Marine Branch, did they have a branch badge, as opposed to the ASR sleeve badge some of them wore?

yes, nothing to stop them being used as so, for a motto perhaps "words not deeds"... nice play on others

TTN, it would appear so. Look here:

As it is on the proper shield it looks official. The RAF Police too I see.

Thank you spy, but was trying to be serious for once., Yes, your alternative would work. Brings to mind, why bomb the HQ and stop all the confusion.
Met Office?
Two hands holding crystal balls?
Or the economy version, one hand holding a pine cone?
Or one finger pointing to a sucker's gap.

@ PN ... your post #72 led me to a interesting discovery of a Military outfit that would appear to offer me money in return for my assortment of [mint] cloth badges that just sit in a drawer.
I seem to have 14 or so of merchantable quality - maybe £50-worth
