"Name on a plane" - commercial sponsorship soon to be appearing on RAFAT airframes?
£25k seems dirt cheap. I guess it had to happen. What next?

Fair point. To the casual and untrained eye though, there's fag paper thinness about the difference. Does it matter where the money's going to, however noble the cause?
1.1 - Thread title changed from: <<"Name on a plane" - ideas for unsuitable RAFAT sponsors?>> to <<"Name on a plane" - commercial sponsorship soon to be appearing on RAFAT airframes?>>
1.2 - It doesn't seem to have changed.

A good way to raise money and can be done in a way where unless you are up really close you can't tell.
Bloodhound SSC has done it ...
Composite Club | BLOODHOUND SSC
and I seem to remember one of the F1 teams did it as a one off - you paid £'x' and got your name (in small letters on the rear wing (I think)).

For as little as £30 - or as much as £25,000 - you can pay to have a name on the undercarriage..
If only the Red Arrows were as popular as NASCAR then the money could be rolling in to buy a few V-22s !

Wensleydale I was reading about a chap n the states who had a really awkward name so changed it to null as he liked the sound of it, he then found that he was getting stuff for free as hotels etc when punching the name into the computers were reading it as name not known so we're not billing him lol.
