Black Buck - why Victor pilots on the Vulcans?

I quote from the wikipedia entry on Operation Black Buck:

The Vulcan was over its normal maximum take-off weight—each carried, as well as extra equipment like the DASH 10 and a chemical toilet, a highly experienced Air to Air Refuelling Instructor (AARI) from the Victor tanker force who would fly the Vulcan during refuelling
Surely the Vulcan crews were trained to fly the Vulcan during refuelling, so why the need for a Victor instructor to take over?
