Why strip it and low loader it, surely flying it would have been quicker.

Seeing as it hasn't done a SAROp since mid-September, it's presumably suffering a major technical problem. One of the Valley Sea Kings left by road for the same reason.

Either that or the Navy crews can't face a long transit in winter weather...

Given that the crabs wouldn't fly in the rain from RAF Aldergrove, therefore leaving the tasking to the RN, I find that comment very amusing.

At the risk of appearing to bite jungly, the amount of overnighters I spent at R850 is testament to the jungles ability to see through cloud.

Maybe quicker, but as it's going out of service. where's the rush - and this is probably much cheaper
