AVRo Vulcan and LGB's?

Tim's handle was WH904 and as he states it's unknown if the aircraft used in the trial used a designator or not. An explanation on why Martel wasn't used is also on the link and backs up a story that I heard about carriage life (at altitude).

IIRC 3 was the maximum number of 1000lb LGBs you could fit in the bomb bay due to the length of the bomb

Using 'classic bombing', Syria is being currently used as a dumping-ground for munitions that are at their use-by date.
Russians use guided bombs too, not as much as those dumb though. Yupp they certainly are cleaning some soviet-era depots in this operation.

They must have some CBW stocks they could use on ISIL.....

A bit like GW1 was for us then. You'd be surprised at how many Iron 1000 lbers dropped by B52s were donated by the RAF. With a ban on deep sea dumping rushing on it was an eagerly grasped opportunity.
