When I was a lad

The skies were fill of aeroplanes, from the humble JP through lightnings, jaguars, the V force, and all manner of Varsitys et al. These days it is very rare to hear a jet other than one carrying my peer group from one airport to another. Close to here we had Leconfield, Linton, Church Fenton, Finningley, Scampton, Waddington, even Staxton.

How refreshing over the last couple of days to hear the skies over East Yorkshire resonating to the sound of fast jets doing their thing.

I thank you, not for the soundtrack, but for being there in preparation of what is happening, and for sure what is about to happen. I just wish there were a WHOLE lot more of you to perform the task ahead.
