Their first refurbished Ukrainian carier is still not operational (although currently at port in Syria but without any on-board airplanes)
Just to prove that the Chinese carrier was never in the Mediterranean. The claim from Debka was total rubbish.

BEIJING — China hosted a visit this week to its sole aircraft carrier by senior U.S. Navy officers amid tensions over reported plans by Washington to challenge Beijing's territorial claims in the South China Sea.

The delegation of 27 commanders and captains boarded the Liaoning on Monday and held discussions on "exercise management, personnel training, medical protection and strategies in carrier development," the Chinese navy said on its official microblog.

About the same size as our own QE2 class carriers then ?

and similar capabilities according to Wiki..............

More interesting was the BAE systems comparison slide pack of the QE2 class carriers with the old HMS Eagle form the 1950'/60's - Eagle looked a more capable package in terms of bang for your buck (probably not true I know but the slide pack did not show a massive capability differential for the time and difference and cost difference).

I wonder who agreed to release that slide ??
