Result!

Just to update those who were unable to sleep at night for worrying about my situation I finally have some good news.

After much wrangling my insurer has finally agreed to accept all of my no claims history. Rather than name and shame I can now name and acclaim Aviva as the company who have given in to my begging and allowed me to receive the discount befitting of someone with a claim free driving history.

If anyone should find themselves in a similar situation and in need of helpful hints for how to resolve the issue I am more than happy to explain in full how I did it.

Thanks again.

BV

Liverpool Victoria accept overseas NCD (in what seems to be a rather informal way) and even advertise it if you google "LV armed forces no claims discount" or words to that effect - I'm not authorized URL posts yet! Having been out of the country for more than 6 years, I was pleasantly surprised by how easily they processed today's application and cover was cheap

At a slight tangent, but concerning Liverpool Victoria as mentioned above; they were able to keep my Oz resident brother on my father's car insurance, so brother had wheels for the month or so visit back home every year or two. Having said that, my father had been with LV and its predecessor, Frizzells, for as long as I can remember, so upwards of fifty years. Does anyone else here remember the Frizzells rep from the 1980s, Len Fontana? Quite a character, who made a great effort to get all us RAE apprentices on board.
